What can you do if you get scammed by a moving company?

Read the contract before you agree to it! We do our best to point out all expected charges and provide explanations for each one. In addition, statements about Double Drive Time and possible extra charges are highlighted and require additional signatures to ensure our clients are aware of them before moving day. But!!! We still find that many clients do not read the full contract before signing and are surprised by these charges. Please do not let this happen to you. Yes, there are a lot of dishonest and bad moving companies out there and if you have been scammed by a moving company, you may file a complaint against them at www.bhgs.dca.ca.gov. The complaint form can be downloaded, filled out and mailed or submitted online. Lost items or damage claims must be filed in writing within nine months after your goods have been delivered.
