EXTRA-HEAVY & SPECIALTY ITEM HANDLING POLICY
Certain items require additional manpower, equipment, preparation, and/or special handling to protect the item, the property, our employees, and our equipment. When applicable, an extra-heavy item handling fee may be assessed in addition to the regular hourly moving rate.

EXAMPLES OF EXTRA-HEAVY ITEMS
STAIRS & DIFFICULT ACCESS

The fees above are based on normal ground-level handling and do not include carrying extra-heavy items up or down stairs.
When an extra-heavy or specialty item must be transported on stairs, an additional $50–$150 per item may apply depending on the item’s weight, dimensions, number and configuration of stairs, accessibility, manpower required, and overall difficulty and risk involved.
FINAL FEE DETERMINATION
The amounts above are guidelines and maximum standard charges, not automatic fees. Our crews may reduce or waive an extra-heavy fee when the crew determines that an item can be moved safely and without unusual difficulty.
Conversely, if an item requires substantially more manpower, specialized equipment, additional protection, disassembly, unusual maneuvering, or special handling that was not reasonably apparent before the move, any additional service or charge will be discussed with the customer and documented as required before the additional service is performed.
We make every effort to be as transparent as possible regarding pricing. However, every moving situation is different, and the actual difficulty of handling an unusually heavy item cannot always be determined until our crew evaluates the item, access conditions, and required handling on-site.
Our goal is not to charge an extra-heavy fee simply because an item meets a particular weight threshold. The fee is intended to reflect the additional labor, risk, equipment, and special care actually required to move the item safely.
